Don't blink, or you might miss a major development in the data industry! Databricks just announced acquisition of Okera, and of course Qlik is in the process of buying Talend. But there are lots of layoffs, too: Practically every company in the data business is going through layoffs right now, usually around 10%. What will that mean? Well, fewer people picking up the pieces and ultimately doing more work! That will likely result in more use of ChatGPT and similar Large Language Models (LLM), like Dolly 2.0, by Databricks.
