In the old world of data
quality initiatives, central IT would engage with a software vendor
to do a one-time cleanse of enterprise data. Sophisticated
algorithms would be used to put errant data in its place, and
ideally generate some positive impact on operations. But before
long, the bad data would start to creep in, as entropy took hold.
